ABAP front end server for SAP Fiori

Hi Experts ,

 

I was going through the plethora of SAP firori architectures put across in Internet and see the ABAP frontend server as a integral component in

all of them.

When used in conjuction with the SAP business suite , the architecture has a ABAP front end server on top of the Backend ABAP server which is shown enclosing the SAP Business suite .

 

I'm confused as to what is the relevance of a ABAP frone end server , the netweaver AS ABAP provides gateway services and Odata services , so when this is already present what is the need for a separate ABAP front end server just to provide UI5 artefacts ?

 

 

Can anyone here help me with the following doubts I have :

 

1) what is the difference between a Front end ABAP and backend ABAP server?

2)when UI5 and Fiori is a HTML5 based technology and The business logic is not part of Fiori UX , why the Front end application server is called a

ABAP front end server ?

2)does front end ABAP server have any relevance when the backend is a HANA system with HANA XS Application server ?

Display Balances FIORI App - Error - Could not open App, Try again later

Hello,

 

We configured Fiori Apps for Simple Finance, when we try to access app Display Balances we are getting error.

page log says as below,

 

/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/ushell/resources/sap/fin/central/lib/library.js: 404 - NOT FOUND.

Appreciate help in this regard.

 

Below Odata Serive and Roles are activated and assigned to user.

 

ODATA service : FAC_GL_ACCOUNT_BALANCE_SRV

UI 5 Application : FIN_GL_BALANCES

Business Catalog(Launchpad) :SAP_SFIN_BC_GL_DOC_PROC

Business Group (Launchpad) :SAP_SFIN_BCG_GLACCOUNTANT

PFCG role for Business Catalog :SAP_BR_GL_ACCOUNTANT

Basic queries on fiori development

Hi,

 

I have few basic queries on fiori app development.

I am going to use Eclipse for development.

Is it good to start development by importing the template code from Web Ide to eclipse or to do a fresh start?

What if our gateway is not supporting the latest version of web ide template?

What are the steps to upgrade the gateway UI5 version library.?

Configure the SAP Fiori Tiles

Hi Experts,

 

I am new to Fiori,

 

Two queries:

 

1. I need to configure the Material Shortages Tile grouped under MRP Controller.

 

For Eg:

Here in the tiles the number should be the material numbers to be displayed. the Material Shortage tile standard doesn't have this and we need to customise it, to display the number of material list count it fetches the date from the SAP MM.

 

Let me know how to proceed or any configuration /developments needed?

 

 

2. Needs to set the layout as some default - (it should be a custom layout.). How to do it?

Factsheets are not displayed in Launchpad

Hi All,

 

I have completed my fiori Factshets(G/L Accounting Document and Vendor Accounting documents) are activated in both front-end and back-end service and roles are also assigned but these two are not visible in launchpad.

 

Note: Transnational Apps are not visible in Launchpad visible but not Factshets.

 

Please help me these two are very urgent.

Best possible choice for Dashboard development

Hi!

 

I am looking for different possibilities for creating dashboards for executives in Health Care industry. Basically, at first you are shown some tiles/visualisations with some context data behind them and by pressing on those tiles or visuals you could either drill down or view a larger/more detailed table or some additional visualisations. It

 

I tried Lumira, which had great visualization capabilities but no Dashboard capability (+ the licencing issue). I also tried playing around with SAP Smart Business Executive Edition, but it seriously lacked in visualization possibilities and flexibility, not to mention only possible data source is HANA view AND the product is not developed and EOL is 30. Sept 2017.

 

Are there any other products or is it easier to expose the required data through an OData WebService and create your own visualisation app with UI5 and publish it to Fiori Launchpad? Or is there a Fiori App available for all kinds of dashboarding capabilities?

 

To sum up, what are the most cost effective, non-time consuming ways to develop and consume dashboards to view data from BW system?

 

PS: Let me know when you need more info on my use case and requirements.

RFC call was not successful because of communication failure 'RFC destination ERP does not exist'

Dear Experts,

 

For all Fiori App's, we 're getting the error Service XXXX failed. Contact your system administrator. Cannot call service with URL: /sap/opu/odata/sap/XXX/ from the Fiori Launchpad. In error log (transaction /n /IWFND/ERROR_LOG), we found the error The RFC call was not successful because of communication failure 'RFC destination ERP does not exist.

 

Please find the error screenshot in attachment. Any ideas, please?

Dump While Activating ODATA Service in sap Fiori .

hi all,

 

Iam getting the type conflict dump when trying to activate the OData service in SAP ECC system.

 

Iam following Embedded Approach.

 

Have surfed in different SCN posts regarding the SAP Note that was applied & issue was solved for many. But in my case its SP12 & it say the relevant SAP Note cannot be implemented.

 

Kindly help.

Adding custom language file to standard Fiori app

Hi all!

 

I'd like to ask how to make use of a custom translation file for a standard Fiori app. It's the Inbox app, if that's relevant.

 

I can download the UI code using /UI5/UI5_REPOSITORY_LOAD, create a new language file to i18n folder for the specified language, but then:

 

- Do I need upload the whole folder back to system or could I upload just the new file?

- If I upload the whole app, can I use the same name or should I do a custom version?

- I hope I don't need to do an extension just for the new language file?

 

Something else?

Fiori Launchpad - Custom JS File

this might be a quite simple question. I would like to add a custom js file into the fiori launchpad.

 

Is there a proper way to achive this without modifiying the launchpad?

Obligated action before using other apps in Launchpad

Hi all,

 

One of the requirements for our customer is the following:

 

They have for a user (for example) 10 apps in the launchpad.

It could be possible, that the user is obligated to perform an action (to start 1 specific app) before he could use all the other apps in his launchpad.

 

So, the user should receive a warning when opening other apps that he should first use that specific app first.

 

Is something possible? (I would say, everything is possible ;-) ), but how should we handle this?

My inbox no pending tasks in app

Hey,

 

I just configured My Inbox and in Launch-page I see that there is 1 task, after opening the App - No tasks are displayed:

in backend - inbox has 4 items.

Requisition Approval App - Work Item receive to all the users in Fiori

Hi Team,

 

I have configured the Fiori Requisition Approval app as per the standard configuration and have assigned the Task ID TS00007986 in Purchasing Purchase Requisition Approve Requisitions App Specify Workflow Task IDs for Approve Requisitions App.

 

I can see the tiles count on the app too.

 

My workflows configured in ECC are sending the workflow to SBWP of Release agent assigned against the release code but in Fiori Launchpad all the users are receiving the work item. I cant figure out the reason behind this behavior, seems a bit abnormal

 

Can you please help me solve it, as we're approaching into the UAT Phase urgent help is requested

Setup of SAP Fiori Search

Hi all,

 

We are trying to create our first Fiori Fact Sheet app.

 

Fisrt of all, we are following the next doc:

Setup of SAP Fiori Search - SAP Fiori for SAP Business Suite - SAP Library

 

When we want to activate the Business Functions (2. Activate business functions), we're getting the following error:

We already have a HANA database connection from this system (trx. DBCO):

And working fine, for example:

 

Testing a Database Connection Defined in DBCON

 

Connection HANA_ABP                       successfully opened.

Connection HANA_ABP                       closed

 

 

What's wrong? Any suggestions?

My Paystubs (Version 2)

Hi All,

 

I've implemented the My Paystubs (Version 2) in our environment and when trying to run the application, we hit some error. I debug thru the application and found out that in the below method:

 

CL_HCM_MY_PAYSTUBS_DPC_EXT~PAYSLIPS_GET_ENTITYSET

 

when the application passing on the filter to the io_tech_request_context, the PERNR filter value is not correctly defined. E.g. the employee number '11011212' which assigned to the user ID is showing only as '1101' in the filter select-option value. Please see the screenshot in the attached file 'Picture1.PNG'.

 

Because of this issue, whenever we run the application we will hit the error as shown in the attached file 'Picture2.PNG' which being thrown out whenever it is trying to validate the PERNR using the select-option value that pass out from the 'Picture1.PNG'.

 

If I changed the value to '11011212' in the filter, then the error will not shown anymore and results will be returned accordingly.


I tried to search for SAP Notes for this but can't seem to find one that can fix this issue. Did anyone of you face the same issue for this app? Urgently need your help and advise on this to get this solved.

How Fiori App triggers oData service methods

Hi,

 

Could anybody please let me know how Fiori App triggers oData service methods and gets data to browser. Lets say i have a Fiori  (CRUD or Master - detail app) and im using a custom odata service which has an entity set referring to a Z table. I have implemented (Re-define) few of methods (get_entityset, get_entity, insert and execute_action) in this custom odata service. If i use this service in one of my Fiori project (as Template) how fiori app will consume backend data by using these Redefined methods.

 

Could anybody please guide me on this.

My inbox fiori launch pad issue.

We have configured my inbox fiori app(001) but while opening my inbox in launchpad we have issue.

 

Error description.

Hide Notes, Notifications, Qualifications in FIORI for People Profile

Hi Mentors,

 

I know there are ways to hide FIORI App elements through SAP RIVER or SAP WEB IDE, however is there any way to hide Notifications, Notes or any other field from backend through R/3?

 

I would like to hide fields as reflecting in the screen shot.

Fiori: Leave Request - Absence Types

Hi,

 

Activated standard Leave Request Fiori App and observed the Leave types(Absence Types) list are not same as compared to existing ESS for the same user.

In Fiori almost all the leave types are shown whereas in ESS(Portal) only filtered leave types(as expected) are shown.

Here, both ESS(Portal) & Fiori standard.

 

Need your suggestions to show the filtered absence types like ESS also in Fiori standard app.

SAP UI5 Issue - No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header

Dear Expert,

 

We are facing Issue in Chome of "Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://localhost:50946' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 405."

 

While testing the Application.

 

Please guide us on the same.
